V1298 Tau is an orange K-type dwarf (about 1.10 solar masses, 4,970 K, 1.32 solar radii), 108 light-years from Earth. V1298 Tau is only about 20 million years old, and its four transiting planets are still contracting from formation. V1298 Tau c is a 4.7-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 8.2 days, at 0.082 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 953 K, discovered in 2019 via transit. V1298 Tau d is a 6.0-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 12.4 days, at 0.108 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 831 K, discovered in 2019 via transit. With 4 confirmed worlds, V1298 Tau is a densely packed system whose resonances, spacing, and formation history are active research topics.
