Kepler-223 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 1.13 solar masses, 5,803 K, 1.72 solar radii), 1,860 light-years from Earth. Kepler-223's four planets are locked in a chain of mean-motion resonances, a rare clockwork architecture. Kepler-223 b is a 7.4-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 7.4 days, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.08), discovered in 2014 via transit. Kepler-223 c is a 5.1-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 9.8 days, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.15), discovered in 2014 via transit. Kepler-223 d is a 8.0-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 14.8 days, discovered in 2014 via transit.
