Kepler-454 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 1.03 solar masses, 5,687 K, 1.07 solar radii), 231 light-years from Earth. Kepler-454 b is a 5.4-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 10.6 days, at 0.095 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 916 K, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.32), discovered in 2015 via transit. Kepler-454 c is a 4.51-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 1.44 years, at 1.287 AU from its star, discovered in 2015 via radial velocity. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
