Kepler-290 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 0.84 solar masses, 5,142 K, 0.76 solar radii), 695 light-years from Earth. Kepler-290 d is a planet with 0.9 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 18.3 hours, at 0.015 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 1,589 K, discovered in 2023 via transit. Kepler-290 b is a planet with 2.3 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 14.6 days, at 0.110 AU from its star, discovered in 2014 via transit. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
