Kepler-10 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.91 solar masses, 5,708 K, 1.06 solar radii), 186 light-years from Earth. Kepler-10 b was the first rocky exoplanet with a firmly measured bulk density, a lava world on a sub-day orbit. Kepler-10 b is a 3.2-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 20.1 hours, at 0.017 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 2,188 K, discovered in 2011 via transit. Kepler-10 c is a 11.3-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 45.3 days, at 0.241 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 579 K, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.14), discovered in 2011 via transit.
