HR 858 is a Sun-like F-type star (about 1.20 solar masses, 6,354 K, 1.26 solar radii), 32.0 light-years from Earth. HR 858 b is a 3.5-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 3.6 days, at 0.049 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 1,552 K, discovered in 2019 via transit. HR 858 c is a 3.8-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 6.0 days, at 0.069 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 1,309 K, discovered in 2019 via transit. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
