HD 33142 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 1.52 solar masses, 5,025 K, 4.17 solar radii), 121 light-years from Earth. HD 33142 d is a 0.20-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 89.9 days, at 0.452 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.19), discovered in 2022 via radial velocity. HD 33142 b is a 1.26-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 330 days, at 1.074 AU from its star, discovered in 2011 via radial velocity. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
