HD 181433 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 0.86 solar masses, 4,918 K), 26.9 light-years from Earth. HD 181433 b is a 7.2-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 9.4 days, at 0.083 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.40), discovered in 2008 via radial velocity. HD 181433 c is a 0.74-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 2.79 years, at 1.885 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.24), discovered in 2008 via radial velocity. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
