WISPIT 1 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 0.72 solar masses, 4,670 K), 230 light-years from Earth. WISPIT 1 b is a 10.4-Jupiter-mass companion, at 338 AU from its star, discovered in 2025 via direct imaging. WISPIT 1 c is a 5.30-Jupiter-mass companion, at 840 AU from its star, discovered in 2025 via direct imaging. Direct imaging revealed these planets because they are young, massive, and widely separated from their star, appearing bright in infrared light against the glare. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
