TOI-286 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 0.83 solar masses, 5,152 K, 0.78 solar radii), 59.2 light-years from Earth. TOI-286 b is a 4.5-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 4.5 days, at 0.050 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 979 K, discovered in 2024 via transit. TOI-286 c is a 3.7-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 39.4 days, at 0.213 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 475 K, discovered in 2024 via transit. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
