OGLE-2018-BLG-1011L is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.18 solar masses, 5,778 K), 7,100 light-years from Earth. OGLE-2018-BLG-1011L c is a 2.80-Jupiter-mass companion, at 0.800 AU from its star, discovered in 2019 via microlensing. OGLE-2018-BLG-1011L b is a 1.80-Jupiter-mass companion, at 1.800 AU from its star, discovered in 2019 via microlensing. Microlensing detections occur when a foreground star's gravity briefly magnifies a background source, revealing planets that are otherwise too faint and distant to observe directly. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
