OGLE-2006-BLG-109L is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.51 solar masses, 5,778 K), 1,510 light-years from Earth. OGLE-2006-BLG-109L b is a 0.73-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 4.90 years, at 2.300 AU from its star, discovered in 2008 via microlensing. OGLE-2006-BLG-109L c is a 0.27-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 13.5 years, at 4.500 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.15), discovered in 2008 via microlensing. Microlensing detections occur when a foreground star's gravity briefly magnifies a background source, revealing planets that are otherwise too faint and distant to observe directly.
