KMT-2020-BLG-0414L is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.49 solar masses, 5,778 K), 1,220 light-years from Earth. KMT-2020-BLG-0414L b is a 1.9-Earth-mass planet, at 2.070 AU from its star, discovered in 2021 via microlensing. KMT-2020-BLG-0414L c is a 27.0-Jupiter-mass companion, at 22.3 AU from its star, discovered in 2021 via microlensing. Microlensing detections occur when a foreground star's gravity briefly magnifies a background source, revealing planets that are otherwise too faint and distant to observe directly. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
