KIC 9663113 is a Sun-like F-type star (about 1.15 solar masses, 6,117 K, 2.22 solar radii), 1,595 light-years from Earth. Kepler-458 c is a planet with 4.2 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 20.7 days, discovered in 2016 via transit. KIC 9663113 b is a planet with 4.6 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 1.57 years, discovered in 2015 via transit. The planet was found when it crossed the face of its star, producing periodic dips in brightness that reveal its size and orbital period to space-based photometry.
