Kepler-712 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 0.84 solar masses, 5,148 K, 0.78 solar radii), 872 light-years from Earth. Kepler-712 b is a planet with 3.4 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 21.0 days, discovered in 2016 via transit. Kepler-712 c is a planet with 4.8 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 227 days, discovered in 2016 via transit. The planet was found when it crossed the face of its star, producing periodic dips in brightness that reveal its size and orbital period to space-based photometry.
