Kepler-449 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 1.02 solar masses, 5,649 K), 242 light-years from Earth. Kepler-449 b is a planet with 2.1 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 12.6 days, discovered in 2015 via transit. Kepler-449 c is a planet with 2.8 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 33.7 days, discovered in 2015 via transit. The planet was found when it crossed the face of its star, producing periodic dips in brightness that reveal its size and orbital period to space-based photometry.
