Kepler-316 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 0.59 solar masses, 4,204 K, 0.52 solar radii), 385 light-years from Earth. Kepler-316 b is a planet with 1.1 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 2.2 days, at 0.027 AU from its star, discovered in 2014 via transit. Kepler-316 c is a planet with 1.2 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 6.8 days, at 0.058 AU from its star, discovered in 2014 via transit. The planet was found when it crossed the face of its star, producing periodic dips in brightness that reveal its size and orbital period to space-based photometry.
