Kepler-1656 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 1.03 solar masses, 5,569 K, 1.10 solar radii), 186 light-years from Earth. Kepler-1656 b is a 0.15-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 31.6 days, at 0.197 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.84), discovered in 2018 via transit. Kepler-1656 c is a 0.40-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 5.25 years, at 3.053 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.53), discovered in 2022 via radial velocity. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
