Kepler-1649 is a cool M-dwarf (about 0.20 solar masses, 3,240 K, 0.23 solar radii), 92.2 light-years from Earth. Kepler-1649 c is an Earth-sized habitable-zone planet that was rejected as a false positive and later recovered. Kepler-1649 b is a planet with 1.0 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 8.7 days, and an equilibrium temperature near 307 K, discovered in 2017 via transit. Kepler-1649 c is a planet with 1.1 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 19.5 days, and an equilibrium temperature near 234 K, discovered in 2020 via transit. At least one planet may receive an Earth-like flux of starlight, placing this system on the short list of potentially habitable worlds worth detailed atmospheric study.
