Kepler-1491 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.99 solar masses, 5,626 K, 1.39 solar radii), 2,066 light-years from Earth. Kepler-1491 c is a planet with 2.4 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 61.6 days, at 0.304 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 530 K, discovered in 2023 via transit. Kepler-1491 b is a planet with 1.5 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 16.6 days, discovered in 2016 via transit. The planet was found when it crossed the face of its star, producing periodic dips in brightness that reveal its size and orbital period to space-based photometry.
