Kepler-1487 is a Sun-like F-type star (about 1.38 solar masses, 6,541 K, 1.63 solar radii), 1,015 light-years from Earth. Kepler-1487 c is a planet with 8.0 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 35.8 days, at 0.259 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 991 K, discovered in 2023 via transit. Kepler-1487 b is a planet with 2.1 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 7.3 days, discovered in 2016 via transit. The planet was found when it crossed the face of its star, producing periodic dips in brightness that reveal its size and orbital period to space-based photometry.
