Kepler-117 is a Sun-like F-type star (about 1.13 solar masses, 6,150 K, 1.61 solar radii), 1,456 light-years from Earth. Kepler-117 b is a 0.09-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 18.8 days, at 0.144 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 984 K, discovered in 2014 via transit. Kepler-117 c is a 1.84-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 50.8 days, at 0.280 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 704 K, discovered in 2014 via transit. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
