Kepler-1090 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.86 solar masses, 5,321 K, 0.82 solar radii), 859 light-years from Earth. Kepler-1090 c is a planet with 3.3 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 42.4 days, discovered in 2021 via transit. Kepler-1090 b is a planet with 2.3 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 199 days, discovered in 2016 via transit. The planet was found when it crossed the face of its star, producing periodic dips in brightness that reveal its size and orbital period to space-based photometry.
