K2-62 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 0.67 solar masses, 4,455 K, 0.70 solar radii), 112 light-years from Earth. K2-62 b is a planet with 2.0 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 6.7 days, and an equilibrium temperature near 666 K, discovered in 2016 via transit. K2-62 c is a planet with 2.0 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 16.2 days, and an equilibrium temperature near 495 K, discovered in 2016 via transit. The planet was found when it crossed the face of its star, producing periodic dips in brightness that reveal its size and orbital period to space-based photometry.
