K2-290 is a Sun-like F-type star (about 1.19 solar masses, 6,302 K, 1.51 solar radii), 273 light-years from Earth. K2-290 b is a 10.9-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 9.2 days, at 0.092 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 1,230 K, discovered in 2019 via transit. K2-290 c is a 0.77-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 48.4 days, at 0.305 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 676 K, discovered in 2019 via transit. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
