K2-229 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.87 solar masses, 5,315 K, 0.79 solar radii), 103 light-years from Earth. K2-229 c is a planet with 2.0 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 8.3 days, at 0.077 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 750 K, discovered in 2018 via transit. K2-229 b is a planet with 1.0 Earth radii, with an orbital period of 14.0 hours, discovered in 2018 via transit. The planet was found when it crossed the face of its star, producing periodic dips in brightness that reveal its size and orbital period to space-based photometry.
