K2-199 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 0.71 solar masses, 4,491 K, 0.68 solar radii), 108 light-years from Earth. K2-199 b is a 6.9-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 3.2 days, at 0.038 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 913 K, discovered in 2018 via transit. K2-199 c is a 12.4-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 7.4 days, at 0.066 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 694 K, discovered in 2018 via transit. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
