HIP 5158 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 0.78 solar masses, 4,962 K), 51.6 light-years from Earth. HIP 5158 b is a 1.42-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 346 days, at 0.890 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.52), discovered in 2009 via radial velocity. HIP 5158 c is a 15.0-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 24.7 years, at 7.700 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.14), discovered in 2011 via radial velocity. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
