HD 83443 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 1.00 solar masses, 5,442 K, 0.94 solar radii), 40.9 light-years from Earth. HD 83443 b is a 0.40-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 3.0 days, at 0.041 AU from its star, discovered in 2002 via radial velocity. HD 83443 c is a 1.50-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 22.6 years, at 8.000 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.76), discovered in 2022 via radial velocity. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
