HD 82943 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 1.08 solar masses, 5,935 K, 1.18 solar radii), 27.6 light-years from Earth. HD 82943's giant planets are caught in a 2:1 resonance, the inner completing two orbits per one of the outer. HD 82943 c is a 1.96-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 220 days, at 0.743 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.37), discovered in 2003 via radial velocity. HD 82943 b is a 1.68-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 1.21 years, at 1.183 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.16), discovered in 2003 via radial velocity.
