HD 81817 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 4.30 solar masses, 4,140 K), 269 light-years from Earth. HD 81817 c is a 22.6-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 1.71 years, at 2.325 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.10), discovered in 2022 via radial velocity. HD 81817 b is a 24.1-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 2.80 years, at 3.233 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.10), discovered in 2020 via radial velocity. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
