HD 74156 is a Sun-like F-type star (about 1.10 solar masses, 6,068 K), 57.6 light-years from Earth. HD 74156 b is a 1.68-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 51.6 days, at 0.280 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.64), discovered in 2003 via radial velocity. HD 74156 c is a 8.66-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 6.70 years, at 3.678 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.38), discovered in 2003 via radial velocity. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
