HD 66428 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 1.01 solar masses, 5,716 K), 53.3 light-years from Earth. HD 66428 b is a 10.9-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 6.21 years, at 3.395 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.47), discovered in 2005 via radial velocity. HD 66428 c is a 1.76-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 28.7 years, at 9.408 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.21), discovered in 2021 via radial velocity. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
