HD 65216 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.87 solar masses, 5,612 K), 35.1 light-years from Earth. HD 65216 b is a 1.29-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 1.58 years, at 1.301 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.27), discovered in 2003 via radial velocity. HD 65216 c is a 2.03-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 14.7 years, at 5.750 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.17), discovered in 2013 via radial velocity. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
