HD 47186 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.96 solar masses, 5,657 K, 1.08 solar radii), 37.5 light-years from Earth. HD 47186 b is a 0.07-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 4.1 days, at 0.050 AU from its star, discovered in 2008 via radial velocity. HD 47186 c is a 0.35-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 3.71 years, at 2.395 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.25), discovered in 2008 via radial velocity. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
