HD 30177 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.98 solar masses, 5,680 K), 55.6 light-years from Earth. HD 30177 b is a 8.25-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 6.95 years, at 3.490 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.19), discovered in 2002 via radial velocity. HD 30177 c is a 4.67-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 31.0 years, at 9.900 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.21), discovered in 2016 via radial velocity. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
