HD 24040 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 1.10 solar masses, 5,776 K, 1.39 solar radii), 46.6 light-years from Earth. HD 24040 c is a 0.20-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 1.41 years, at 1.300 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.11), discovered in 2021 via radial velocity. HD 24040 b is a 3.86-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 10.0 years, at 4.920 AU from its star, discovered in 2006 via radial velocity. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
