HD 219828 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 1.04 solar masses, 5,891 K), 73.1 light-years from Earth. HD 219828 b is a 0.06-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 3.8 days, at 0.049 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.09), discovered in 2007 via radial velocity. HD 219828 c is a 16.1-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 13.1 years, at 5.657 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.81), discovered in 2016 via radial velocity. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
