HD 156279 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.94 solar masses, 5,453 K), 36.2 light-years from Earth. HD 156279 b is a 9.43-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 133 days, at 0.502 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.65), discovered in 2011 via radial velocity. HD 156279 c is a 9.75-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 13.2 years, at 5.486 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.26), discovered in 2016 via radial velocity. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
