HD 147018 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.93 solar masses, 5,441 K), 40.4 light-years from Earth. HD 147018 b is a 2.12-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 44.2 days, at 0.239 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.47), discovered in 2009 via radial velocity. HD 147018 c is a 6.56-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 2.76 years, at 1.922 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.13), discovered in 2009 via radial velocity. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
