HD 12235 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 1.10 solar masses, 5,986 K), 31.8 light-years from Earth. HD 12235 b is a 10.5-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 4.4 days, at 0.054 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.38), discovered in 2022 via radial velocity. HD 12235 c is a 9.87-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 99.5 years, at 22.2 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.17), discovered in 2022 via radial velocity. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
