HD 114783 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 0.85 solar masses, 5,135 K), 21.1 light-years from Earth. HD 114783 b is a 1.10-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 1.35 years, at 1.160 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.14), discovered in 2001 via radial velocity. HD 114783 c is a 1.90-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 11.9 years, at 5.000 AU from its star, discovered in 2016 via radial velocity. The planet betrayed itself through the star's reflex motion — a technique that first revealed worlds around Sun-like stars in the 1990s and remains a workhorse of exoplanet discovery.
