HD 111232 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.96 solar masses, 5,512 K), 29.0 light-years from Earth. HD 111232 b is a 7.96-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 3.20 years, at 2.148 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.21), discovered in 2003 via radial velocity. HD 111232 c is a 18.1-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 72.5 years, at 17.3 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.56), discovered in 2022 via radial velocity. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
