HD 109271 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 1.05 solar masses, 5,783 K), 55.9 light-years from Earth. HD 109271 b is a 0.05-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 7.9 days, at 0.079 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.25), discovered in 2013 via radial velocity. HD 109271 c is a 0.08-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 30.9 days, at 0.196 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.15), discovered in 2013 via radial velocity. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
