HAT-P-44 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.94 solar masses, 5,295 K, 0.95 solar radii), 348 light-years from Earth. HAT-P-44 b is a 0.35-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 4.3 days, at 0.051 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 1,108 K, discovered in 2014 via transit. HAT-P-44 c is a 4.00-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 2.39 years, at 1.752 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.49), discovered in 2014 via radial velocity. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
