GJ 806 is a cool M-dwarf (about 0.41 solar masses, 3,600 K, 0.41 solar radii), 12.0 light-years from Earth. GJ 806 b is a 1.9-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 22.2 hours, at 0.014 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 940 K, discovered in 2023 via transit. GJ 806 c is a 5.8-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 6.6 days, at 0.052 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 490 K, discovered in 2023 via radial velocity. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
