GJ 273 is a cool M-dwarf (about 0.29 solar masses, 3,382 K, 0.29 solar radii), 12 light-years from Earth. GJ 273, Luyten's Star, is only about 12 light-years away and hosts planets near the habitable zone of a red dwarf. GJ 273 c is a 1.2-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 4.7 days, at 0.036 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.17), discovered in 2017 via radial velocity. GJ 273 b is a 2.9-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 18.6 days, at 0.091 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.10), discovered in 2017 via radial velocity.
