GJ 2030 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.96 solar masses, 5,485 K), 37.1 light-years from Earth. GJ 2030 b is a 4.8-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 2.4 days, at 0.034 AU from its star, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.24), discovered in 2022 via radial velocity. GJ 2030 c is a 12.8-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 69.9 years, at 16.8 AU from its star, discovered in 2022 via radial velocity. The planet betrayed itself through the star's reflex motion — a technique that first revealed worlds around Sun-like stars in the 1990s and remains a workhorse of exoplanet discovery.
