GJ 143 is an orange K-type dwarf (about 0.73 solar masses, 4,640 K, 0.69 solar radii), 16.3 light-years from Earth. HD 21749 c is a 3.7-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 7.8 days, at 0.070 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 701 K, discovered in 2019 via transit. GJ 143 b is a 0.07-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 35.6 days, at 0.192 AU from its star, and an equilibrium temperature near 422 K, on an eccentric orbit (e ≈ 0.19), discovered in 2019 via transit.
