CoRoT-7 is a Sun-like G-type star (about 0.92 solar masses, 5,250 K), 160 light-years from Earth. CoRoT-7 b was the first transiting super-Earth and a leading candidate for the first rocky exoplanet, on an orbit shorter than a day. CoRoT-7 c is a 8.4-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 3.7 days, at 0.046 AU from its star, discovered in 2009 via radial velocity. CoRoT-7 b is a 4.1-Earth-mass planet, with an orbital period of 20.5 hours, discovered in 2009 via transit. CoRoT-7 d is a 0.05-Jupiter-mass companion, with an orbital period of 9.0 days, discovered in 2022 via radial velocity. Mutual gravitational tugs between the planets can slowly reshape their orbits, preserving clues to the system's assembly.
